So basically I am stuck between 2 DSLRs thanks to Craig

or

They are both in the price range for what I am wanting to spend.

I am wondering if anyone has these 2 and can give me some advice on what one to choose from and which one would be easier to use for a amateur photographer?

Thanks for any help that is given

I don't have either of them but I trust Canon more than Nikon.
Just personal opinion I suppose.

I agree with Craig for once, it's cheaper but a tiny bit.

The other one however looks sexier.

100% Go with the canon. It's weird as I was just watching The Gadget Man on TV and they were doing a review on the Canon. Looks like a great camera.

Well the 700D has my vote.

It has to many decent features/advantages over the D3200.

700D has:

  • Has in-camera HDR
  • Has a touch screen
  • Has a flip-out screen
  • Higher resolution screen
  • Shoots faster
  • Better maximum light sensitivity
  • Better boost ISO
  • Slightly less shutter lag
  • Slightly larger viewfinder
  • Faster video autofocus

It's a great buy really.

I personally prefer Cannon because of the lenses. Their 'L' series glass looks insane. Granted it is expensive, but it is far better than nikon glass at that price point. I also like some of their cheaper prime glass'.

I had a buddy that owned both of these cameras and he never used the Nikon. Canon is known for their exceptional cameras and really takes their products seriously. No matter what you're planning on doing, whether it be filming videos, landscaping photographs, or up close and personal shots, the Canon will outperform the Nikon with all of them by a landslide.
