I realised I put this in the wrong section before, corrected.
Budget: £600 (including delivery and scan sure protection)
I am going to order from scan.co.uk and use get the scan sure protection because it's my first build and even though it's unlikely I'll brake something as long as I take care - I don't want to take the risk - it's only ~£17. This leaves a budget of about £570 for the actual PC.

Usage:
HD and UHD video editing and rendering
I will need storage for quite a lot of video (I shoot with a GoPro which can easily take 10gb for an hours footage)
Games/simulators such as Kerbal Space Program, X-plane 10, FSX. Would be nice if I could play GTA V/Battlefield from time to time.

Here is the build I have put together from my research, if you guys could advise on what to change and why that would be great. An SSD is not really required, I can live without it for the time being as they are a bit expensive.

For gaming you'd be fine playing at 1080P and Certain Games at 1440P.
For rendering, rendering 1080P shouldn't be bad, however you might need something more powerful for working with 4K/UHD (i could be wrong though)
If you're going to be eidting a lot you're probably gonna want an afrermarket CPU cooler and potentially more RAM.

Few members on here could probably build you something better for your money, so don't order anything yet, however this current config would work none the less.

Thanks for that. I don't work with 4k too much, mostly 1080p60 and 2.7k30
I will get an extra 8gb of RAM in the future but for now I will stick with just 8gb so I can get a better CPU/GPU. Are there any coolers you would recommend?

Here is an alternative build I have come up with. If anyone has any opinions?

Those 2 corsair power supplys are pretty shit.

You would definitely benefit from the hyperthreading on the xeon.

The h81 would require a bios update before you could use it with a 4th gen cpu.

£5 over

Although you said you don't think you want an SSD, I would really recommend it.

Since getting mine a few years back, I realised it was a crucial upgrade to have in my system. If you install one later, it's more of a pain to reinstall your OS, etc. I would really advise you get one if you can afford to fork out the extra money.

well heres something i highly recommend which is a bigger PSU. why?

Well my friend has a very similiar build and his computer blackscreen, at first we though it was a driver issue so we ran DDU and reinstalled the drivers that was known to work.
But it happened again. so i looked in to this for him and found out that the card generally requires a minimum wattage so you would need to find out with that GPU.
Examples

About £1 over budget. Xeon would be nice, i5 will still be fine, better to get an SSD in there. 2TB HDD, because 1TB is fairly meh now-a-days. Spend an extra £5 for the Fractal Design gold rated PSU if you want. Spend £12 extra for the 280x over the 280 if you wish. Spend an extra £7 or so to get the 120GB Samsung 850-EVO instead of the Kingston Fury SSD.

Save £15 if you get that case. Still a great case. N200 is a bit bigger and better built, bit nicer too IMO, but the Core 1000 would be a fine choice too.
