Depends on what you mean by outrageous? Most insurance for a teenage male is high anyways, So don't exactly understand what you mean?
My insurance is only $80/month (i just turned 17). My insurance company gives a discount of you have good grades and if you have enrolled and completed a drivers ed. course. (AAA, or in my town we have Drive Right CT)
From just what I've seen insurance for a sporty car would be 100+, I don't know if its the same as in every state. But I will be trying my best to reduce the amount.

Im 16 and the insurance for my 2015 WRX is $500 every 6 months which isnt too bad

A new Mustang IS NOT a good first car. Get something you won't care about if someone rear ends you, or if you accidentally hit something. A first car is the one you royally fk up and learn to drive in, it should not be pretty. Also, just because you can afford the payments doesn't mean you should do it. Save aside that money for a house.
If you are dead set on a new car and have that much to spend, a 2015 Mustang with 0 miles starts at just under 24k. The Mustang just got a new look in 2015 so people are selling their 2014's to get the new model so you should be able to pick up a like new 2014 model for fairly cheap.

2010 would not make this a "New" Mustang, it is 5 years old. And why should the standards of "it should not be pretty" come from exactly? I Don't see myself getting rid of this car after just a few years.

5 years old is pretty new. Hell my truck is pushing 20 lol. Get some old beat up POS and learn to drive in that.

A 2010 is a pretty new car man. Mines around 18 years old. I would be scared to death in a new car. I dont worry about myself because im a good driver, its the others I worry about. If you like it get it.

I was looking at 2014's and they are around the same price range as a 2010, So I dont know my mind isn't made up yet on what I want.
