Hey guys,

After reading the article posted on the homepage about the Gears of War leaker getting banned, I'm convinced that homebrewing on the Xbox One is definitely not out of the question.

The article states that the game was running on Retail hardware, which is exciting, considering that the game is still in development and should only be capable of running on hardware with Devkit features enabled (Like the 360 did.)

This leads me to presume one of two things:

- There is a way to manually access the Dev kit features on an Xbox One (ID@Xbox has a working system?)

- Kotaku was mistaken and the user was running on Dev Kit hardware. <--- This seems unlikely however, as the article states that the user's Xbox Live account was banned, and normal Devkits weren't allowed access to Xbox Live on the 360 (Unless it was included in a later flash?)

So... I don't think that its a question on whether homebrew capability on Xbox One will be discovered, but rather when. Presumably there will be a way to access the raw nand and manually turn on ID@Xbox features? I hope so anyway.

However, I do see one problem with the Homebrew aspect of Xbox One, and that's all the little CoD lobby kiddies. These special little guys ruined it for the 360 and I highly doubt that its going to be allowed to happen on Xbox One. Hopefully the guys that discover the hack are able to manually turn off Live connectivity and encrypt the file so no-one is able to change it. That would be best for everyone, so atleast these modded consoles are able to be used for their true purpose rather than ruining other peoples games.
