I've progressed from Silver 3 to Master Guardian 2 over the span of a few months. I don't really play competitive too much as I don't like to play without a full premade team, that's why I like the new profile rank system instead of only relying on the competitive rank.
I much prefer to play the FACEIT servers as there is a different ruleset compared to the standard matchmaking servers.

Most of my time spent on CS:GO is playing surf and bhop servers though

I think if I put more time into solo queuing I could probably reach DMG/LE. I'm definitely not at a LEM/SMFC level yet though.

Just Ranked up again I went from unranked to Gold nova 1 from their I progressed through until I reached MG I was going to update this when I became Gold nova master but I think saying I'm an MG is much better ee000)

Silver 1 to MG in 2 months, now back to GNM for inactivity and basically I've starting playing terrible.

I went inactive as silver 3, came back and in 4 days ranked up 3 times i done fairly well coming back i've inproved a lot

Wow, you showed rather fast improvement compared to my friends and I. We were stuck at the SEM-GN1 stage for A LONG TIME (probably 2 months) but once we passed that we moved through the rest of the ranks rather quickly where we are now at DMG/LE.
