Just bought a few of my upgrades after my PSU burnt out. After taking it to my local ICT shop to get it repaired, he told me that the heavier the PSU is, the more heat syncs that it has (In most cases) so he suggested a few brands, Corsair, EVGA, Cooler Master and so on. I went out and found and EVGA 850W 80+ Gold Fully Mod PSU for 100GBP, as he said that if i wanted to go x2 SLI and maybe in the future, if i have the money and want 4K 60FPS on most games maxed out, maybe x3 sli. i will need something around that mark, (Which i do) So i bought that PSU so i wont invest dead money into my rig. I also got that 250GB Samsung 850 EVO SSD that a few people suggested and my Seidon 120V CPU Cooler.
Here is my parts list : [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

I have a few questions.

Can someone help me find some cable mods for my PSU, i want a green sleeved ones to match my new color scheme on my PC.

On the Cooler Master, can someone help me find some benchmarks for the AMD Athlon X4 750K Stock cooler to the Seidon 120V please?

Thank you. : )

You're running a GTX 970 with a 750k? Hm. Okay then. Lucky you got a good unit because that guy was talking shit. "The heavier a PSU is the betterer it is" lol, k then. You can't 3-way SLI anyway. Your motherboard is restricting you. You'd need a motherboard and CPU upgrade before even considering 3-way SLI. Check out JayzTwoCentz for custom sleeved cables, he has a few videos on good companies for that kind of stuff.

All i can say is wow. We both know, or should know i mean, that i am upgrading to an i5(or an i7) with an MSI Krait SLI motherboard. I said i maybe will go for x3 SLI. That depends on how i will be in the future. I still have my GTX 660, will be getting the 970 after my CPU + MOBO..

Also, He said that in MOST cases the PSU is better when it's heavier. Notice the 'MOST' part?

I'm starting to give up in this site. There are people like you who actually do make it a little bad. You start your comment on basically attacking me and then go on to say that my ICT shop down the road is bad as you failed to read what i typed. I said 'MOST' case, i did not anyway shape or form did i say that he said, "All heavy PSU are better than light ones" Then you think that i am dumb to not know that my motherboard is restricting me, no shit sherlock, is only has one PCI Express lane, i also know that running a 970 will bottlekneck due to my CPU not being at the top of the table... but thanks for the directions to JayzTwoCentz.

Why should I know your planned upgrades? I probably helped you out with them but I help a lot of people on different forums every day, I don;t remember everyone I help. Even with the Z97S SLI Krait, you won't be doing 3-way SLI. Stop trying to defend some guy who clearly doesn't have a clue. His job is to get you to spend more money than you need to.

Go ahead and explain exactly where I was "attacking" you. I was informing you that your CPU is for sure going to bottleneck a 970 and you won't be able to do 3-way SLI with anything smaller than E-ATX or XL-ATX motherboard in most cases. My Maximus VII Hero supports "Quad SLI" but can only fit 2-way SLI 970s with their air coolers. I then went on to answer one of your questions so if you think that's "attacking", you've got a lot to learn.

"then go on to say that my ICT shop down the road is bad"
Show me exactly where I said. You don't judge the quality of a PSU by it's weight, that makes 0 sense. The employee who told you that is paid to make you spend as much money as possible, obviously he's going to say as much random shit as he can that you're going to lap up so that they can rake in more money.

Ask that guy in the shop if he can overclock your petaflops to make it run faster...

I bet he'll say yes.

But seriously, that guy is a frikken mongoloid. Never should you judge things by how heavy it is (especially girls ) but anyway. You should judge a unit on it's internals, how it's made, who it's made by. Not just because of the brand.

P.S: If it wasn't for Sanctyy on the most part, this section would be either dead as anything or full of nublets like Gigahertz...
