So i bought a car blah blah blah, and I noticed that the hood has like a little bump in it. It doesnt look like a dent type bump but this is exactly what it looks like. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] whats the point of having that little bump in it?

Looks to be so it can fit your current, or a bigger engine. Not really sure what your car is so I couldn't tell you exactly. But it definitley has to do with the size of the engine.

Could be, again I am no car expert and don't have pictures to compare your car to others etc. But from the picture of the hood you posted it simply looks like a built in dent to allow a larger engine.

I just figured out that when they were designing the car the measurements were not right so when they would close the hood the gears would hit and ect. Therefore they had to put the bump in to make room. all eclipse models of the 1990 and up have them

Its for more room in the engine bay for a K&N intake cause sometimes on imports they need a little more room for the intake or something else that needs room
