I'm looking to get a mic for my laptop soon. It'll be for more immersive gameplay, a little chatting here and there, and maybe making a couple videos from time to time. My only "setbacks" are my low budget and the single port. So I would need a low budget mic with a single jack.

Thank you in advance.

If you are on a low budget i would recommend:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/TeckNet-Vibration-Headphone-Microphone-Connection/dp/B00EZCU5PY/ref=cm_cd_al_qh_dp_i

I used to own a older model of this headset and the sound and mic quality was great.
Hope i helped.

With jack do you mean the 3.5mm jack or a USB?
The mic that Apu suggested, that is a USB.

Either one would work. If the mic works, then I'm not one to complain.

And sorry for not clarifying that.

Ah okay and that's fine, can go with the one APU suggested if you like or you can look here and read reviews and look at ratings.

Scan also offer a good range of headsets.

I used this one 3 years ago, nothing special but it was great, sound was clear and the mic quality was great too (also came with the foam on the end which helps too). May be able to find it a bit cheaper elsewhere though.
