First off, let me define what a McJob is: McJob (sometimes called joe job) is slang for a low-paying, low-prestige dead-end job that requires few skills and offers very little chance of intracompany advancement.

-Low-paying
-Low-prestige
-Dead end job
-Requires little skills

I work and bust my a** off all day and i make $12 an hour. And mcdonalds employees want $15+ an hour to basically do nothing. This really grinds my gears more then anything. whoever thinks this needs to happen is an idiot. You chose to work at a "McJob", you signed the paperwork, you knew what your job entitled, get over it.

My sister works at a chemical engineering plant and her job consists of standing stationary staring at pill bottles for visible damages/imperfections

She gets paid 13 GBP/hour.

Laughable

That's relevant because she effectively does less than your typical McDonald's employee.

Aslong as they're earning a livable wage they have no place to complain.

While $15 is pretty high, I think minimum wage in general needs an increase. I'm not saying anything around that, but there should be a pretty significant increase.

Minimum wage needs to go up, i agree. It doesnt give enough leisure time available when you're busting your ass off at work to get a wage good enough to have a good life style.

If minimum wage were to increase the cost f living does as well. There's no winning there. But the thought of McDonald's employees wanting $15+ is so laughable. Honestly it's one of the easiest things to do and requires little to no effort to flip a burger.

People in my high school complain about this all the time, they want $15 an hour to bag groceries at a grocery store. Are you serious?? People who work all day at a hospital make about that and they have to support their kids, I think it's ridiculous and I hope they get their reality check soon.

at the current exchange rates from GBP to USD your $12 an hour is more than our minimum wage in the uk, ours is about $9.51 or 6.50GBP, if you take that into consideration your better of than the majority of the uk's basic pay, you need to look at it from another perspective if you really wanted a Mcdonalds and there was nobody there to serve you it at any time of the day because nobody wants to work for very little what you gonna do and don't say go somewhere else cause that's irrelevant
