What you're asking me to prove that not all criminals wear masks? There are shows aired on the BBC every week such as Watchdog that show CCTV images of criminals asking for the viewers to send in any info they may have, there are a bunch of idiots out there who don't wear masks..

No, I'm asking you to prove that "a lot don't." If the people are purposely using the burqa as a mask (which most aren't) maybe we should ban anything that can be used to cover up your face or head. We would ban just about everything.

I think you're misunderstanding me, I'm not referring to people who aren't religious getting hold of a burqa to purposefully undermine the CCTV, as yes you are right, anyone could wear a mask. Its people who wear them religiously already and commit crimes. There is nothing we can do about the criminals with enough common sense to use a mask, but believe it or not, a large amount of criminals are idiots, who don't think to use a mask or a means of coverage, and therefore the people already using said "coverage" through the burqa almost have a get out of jail free card. So by banning the Burqa, this the French have bolstered their success rate in catching criminals and cutting crime since the ban.

Like i say, I don't know if this is necessary here, as the French have a far more dense variety of muslim communities. We have a lot of muslims in the UK granted, but not on the communal level as the French, so perhaps "burqa-crime" isn't a large enough problem to warrant a law against them, who knows.

Also, a lot of the reasons have been stated by a lot of other people which personally I agree with.

If a women is free to show her body, why can't she be free to cover it?

If burkas are allowed to be worn in identification photos then i should be able to wear a power rangers mask in mine.
