What are your opinions on the Burqa?

Should they be banned or not?

In no way at all am I a racist, however I believe there should be a ban against the Burqa's.

I feel they are not a true form of identity, therefore it is hard to see who the person is or what they look like.

I know this is a big thing in their own country, however this is England.
Whenever we go over to someone else's country, we abide by their rules and procedures (Which a lot of them are very far fetched).

Note: France banned them a few years ago.

Bruh. Be banned. You come in our country. You follow our rules.
We go in their country we follow their rules.

just like this n00b said...
Fair enough if it's their culture however if they are coming to England they should abide by our procedures ! I would say rules as it isn't a law that you Can't wear it, however if we went to their country we would abide their procedures and rules and its respectful to do the same when in our country.

This can turn into a strong debate with very good points from each viewpoint, however I agree they should ban it.

I'm going to try not to offend anybody but:

I'm voting for UKIP, I don't like the idea of all of these people coming to our country for the NHS and benefits. This country is slowly falling apart, the NHS will soon collapse and people will still be seeking benefits.

If benefits were removed, a lot of people will be left with nothing, only making the situation worse.

Little rant, got nothing against religion, this is my own view on what is best for our country.

I don't think you should be allowed to wear the burka in public. Some people can find it distressing, could also be a security risk. It isn't apart of western culture, seeing someone wearing a burka shouldn't be a regular occurrence in a western society.

No. We are holding ourselves above the Muslim controlled societies which are oppressive and we pride ourselves on being free.
It is their choice to wear the Burqa and stopping them from wearing it is a violation of Religious freedom.

If a Muslim decides to go into a building and harm people a law which says they can't wear a Burqa isn't going to stop them from wearing one.
That's like saying bank robbers aren't going to wear ski masks because they are banned in banks.

I see what you mean, I think we (Britain) should follow nations like France, where showing any religious apparel is illegal, whether it be Christian, Muslim, Jewish or Sikh.

Why? It's a silly set of oppressive laws born out of fear.
We're acting like all of these people are on trial already.

Empathy and humanity are far more important to uphold and experience than security.

I do think you are coming out with some good points, however you've surely got to see other people's views as well.

We cannot see who the person is, which I personally feel is wrong.
