So if I went for the 285, would I have to get that DP MST Hub? The card already has 4 display ports so I should be OK if I am only using four monitors, correct?

Also I am guessing it would work alright If I used a DP to VGA adapter to connect to my monitors?

I'm not too sure if you'll need a hub for 4 monitors tbh. Club3D have a hub that you could use though, I think and for not too expensive, if needed. I wouldn't use VGA, but yes, adapters will work fine.

looks like the best part of 100 GBP for the adapter.

Is there any reason that the 4 display ports would not work with the 4 monitors though? Just wondering why you said that you weren't sure if it would require a hub.

They shouldn't cost that much. You should be fine though.

I just realised that I do not need a hard drive as I have a spare one.

Would I be better getting a 280x over the 285?

got an extra 40 GBP to spend after removing the hard drive.

I'd hold on to the 285. Spend the extra on an SSD. 120GB Crucial BX100 is about £50, so you might want to swap the CM N200 for a Core 1000 to stay around £500. The Core 1000 is a £20 case, great case, but the N200 is better IMO.
