OK, first things first. Thank you for checking out my post!
I have to say I've always loved the capability of a helmet not only for protection but for convenience, a concept of such a helmet could be a skeptical and otherwise loathed. A major disadvantage of doing something like this is because technology is controlling EVERYTHING! And, when there are creators, there are hackers. I don't really think anything can be "Hack Proof" because there's always loop holes. I personally see these kind of prototype of a helmet has potential. Only thing is I would need everyone help to do so. I do not have Military Experience, that's were the help will need to come. The United States Air Force has been developing a new Helmet for F-35 Pilots. But, why can't Infantry be able to have something with such technology? Perhaps make a device which is compatible with the helmet that can allow precise measurements, environmental data, all the variables that can cause inadequate ability to take down the target.

The helmet can't be too dependable, I know, I know, "Then what's the point of it?" It's going to be just like every other piece of equipment, recommended; but not diplorable.
A list of things needed:

    - Protective!
    - Comfortable
    - Sleek
    - Adaptive (All Environments)
    - Common Utilities (Compass, Time, Temperature, maybe Mapping, HUD, etc.)
    - Cooling or Heating System
    - Power (Needs to be powered somehow)

Through some talking around, I have found that there is a way to get a dividend by federal funding for perhaps a type of researching plan. I haven't got that far, yet!
I'm gonna make a petition to see if there's real potential in this. Your feedback will be extremely helpful, regardless; so if you see this as "stupid, dumb, not possible, a joke" then you're more than welcome to say so. This is honestly a really big project and will need help from as many people as possible. If I can get enough thoughts on this and ideas running through this could be revolutionary. I'm thinking too far into the future thought, so put your feedback in the reply's and I will try and keep you guys updated!

The key here is money man, money money. There are far more foot soliders than there is pilots. For the military to give helmets to pilots is a big dent but its ok because they wre pilots, how often does a pilot get shot down in todays times in comparrison to other eras..? I would say alot less. There are so many foot soliders in all branches that this would be such a huge price tag. I mean its not impossible to eventually get tech like this Im sure in the future if not all atleast higher ranked soliders will get something like this. But who knows maybe in the future there wont even be a need for humans to fight in war.

I have, but the only thing is the ideas I have that could be put in the helmet could be helpful, instead of having two different types of headgear to see thermal and night vision.

I have to say, I really love the feedback that you guys are bringing to the table. Honestly I don't really see this being accepted into Infantry for the Marines, as well as infantry for the Army. If I were to build such a mask I would definitely make a variant that is acceptable for even the civilians to use. Only thing is, what would Navy Seals, Delta Squad, Para Rescue, Green Berets, and so on need in the helmet that could make there job easier? I will first attempt to make a simple Prototype too see what all I will have to come to. I will just need the support of the community to be able to do it! If you have ideas, Please share them. And, if I end up taking it to thought. You will not be forgotten.

The military is not about looking "beast"

But, I do think that ballistics helmets would be all wonderful as there is a lot of studies behind them that say they are cheaper and stronger which is great.

I can agree, for its price and how many soldiers they need to supply the idea has not left the mind. But, you can't just look at only the helmet. Agreed, they do have a lot of people to supply for. On the other hand, they also have during specific operations they would have perhaps infrared, night vision, thermal, and etc. That would be attempted for integration in the helmet. The idea of having a helmet for specified operations was also brought to point to where it's then just a choice. For Navy Seals perhaps make it Scuba Dive ready, allow attachments to Re-Breathers or standardized BC's. Allow a HUD that tell's the operator specific decompression stops when surfacing to prevent decompression sickness.
Still in research as of now, but will update with further info when it gets further in production!
