So, for a project for school I had to take a picture of myself and turn it into a cartoon. Now you might know me as posting on here before and some of you really like my work. *Warning* this is my first time doing this style and just overall doing this so It might be really bad. Everyone in my class is really bad with Photoshop, they don't even know how to make a new document so Im not worried to have the worse in the class. Anyway take a look and tell me what you think. Personally I think I could of done a better job on the shading and line-work but I was in a rush.

Honestly I'm debating if I should be afraid of it, or sympathetic.

It looks scary. For real.

I don't mean to sound mean, but it's got a lot of issues.

The eyes and the nose are the worst.
I have no idea why you drew lines around your eyes, unless you're going for a racoon look.

I'd ditch the pig styled nose, too.
I wouldn't try to draw it from a lower angle (get rid of those 2 arches above the nostrils).

The specks on the right side of the face look odd. It's okay to leave small things like that out.

The lips look misshapen.
The line that runs through the center, should connect to the pointed edges, so your bottom lip doesn't look so blocky.

Some lines you can completely remove, (or drastically lower the opacity).
The lines in the neck.
The lines in between the nose and lips.
Some lines in the shirt.
Again, the lines around the eyes, and on the tip of the nose.

Finally, the shading looks a bit weird.
I think the darker spot running along the chin might be too dark. Especially the bit that runs up under the lips.
I personally try to be pretty subtle with facial shading.

Work on your eyes theres no like, white to them. The right eye is scaring me lol
Also use pentool and no spacing on your brush so the lines are smooth and not jagged and stuff like yours hear.Or a graphics tablet is a other alternative

This looks very rushed and doesn't look like you went back to refine shadows, edges, colors, etc

I think that if you slowed down a little and went back through this fixing things one by one this could be a really nice self portrait.
