Pimp My Ride was a big deal back in the mid-2000s. Remember? The 'reality show' which took a kid with a sh*t car and then pimped it out with all kinds of crazy gadgets.
Well, we're sorry to bring you the bad news but... it was all a lie.
The show was hosted by rapper Xzibit who would proudly present some average Joe at the end of the programme with his new car, kitted out with TV screens, sound systems and spinning rims.

Only, some people who got their cars pimped out on the show recently revealed some pretty damning truths about what happened to their car after the cameras were turned off.
"They took the gull-wing doors off because the pistons used to lift them kept them from putting seat belts in the back, which was highly dangerous. Often, the exteriors of the cars were redone, but little was done in terms of the mechanics of the cars."

Apparently many of the parts put in for the show were taken out immediately afterwards. And though the show would suggest the 'pimping' was done in a matter of days, the reality is, it took the guys around six months to finish each car.
"There wasnt much done under the hood in regards to the actual mechanics of the vehicle. For the most part, it needed a lot of work done to make it a functioning regular driver, which they did not do They added a lot of extra weight but didnt adjust the suspension to compensate so I felt like I was in a boat, and every time I hit a bump the car would bottom out and the tires would scrape inside the wheel well."

o after about a month, Seth was forced to use his own money to replace the car's engine because the guys at Pimp My Ride had messed it up so bad.
There you have it, lads. Pimp My Ride was a lie. How very sad. It was just as real as this guy's attempt...

I was reading this and debating whether my whole life was a lie since I used to love watching that show but then I realized that you source was the lad bible so the chances are its all a load of bollocks.
