I saw it all over the news that it was on fire but they didnt explain how it happened, abit ironic though "the torch"

It was the outer paneling of the building that burned. It is pretty common in places where construction codes lack (non fireproof paneling), and if I recall correctly a building in Russia had like 40 floors damaged by a similar incident.
