I have four monitors in a square shape.

This is not going to be used for gaming really. However it will be sometimes just not with all monitors. They need to be able to extend (drag stuff from screen to screen)

The monitors only have a VGA connection and they are 1600x900.

I will be getting a PC with a Gigabyte GTX 960 which has two DVI Ports.

Is it possible to get two DVI splitters and connect them to each DVI port in the graphics card, then get 4 DVI to VGA adapters to connect to all four monitors?

Please ask any questions you have if you don't understand. Its a bit complicated

Thanks

I think every monitor will need to have their own seperate connector, so one maybe via HDMI, two display port and one DVI (possibly DVI to VGA) not too sure on this one. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks. I think i have spotted the flaw in my original idea of the two DVI splitters, so scratch that idea.

I just need to make sure before I buy anything that if I use the 3 display ports and one DVI (with the relevant adapters to VGA) to the monitors that I will definitely be able to extend across all four monitors.

Thanks

Can anyone else confirm that this will work? I need to be 100% sure.

If you use splitters, it will just display the same image on both monitors. So you'll have 2 sets of 2 monitors displaying the same image. If you use 4 different display connectors, you will have 4 separate panels. However, I wouldn't advise that. The resolution is horrible and you'd be better off selling them all to get one or two decent 1080p monitors instead. If you really need the 4 monitors, you'd be better with an ultrawide or two.

I know the resolution is horrible. It was not my choice or purchase.

The facts are : I have these four monitors and have been asked to set them up to be able to extend.

It doesnt have to look fantastic it just has to work haha

I looked up your card and you also have an 1 HDMI and 1 DisplayPort on the back of the card. You can buy adapters for those to vga and also have dvi to vga adapters. Everything should work this way.

I'd strongly advise getting rid of 'em, if you can. It's 2015, no one should have to deal with 1600x900 resolution, especially not on 4 panels. You could probably sell 'em for £50-£60 each depending on condition. That's potentially £240 to spend on monitors, which could get you a decent 2560x1080 monitor for work space, as a secondary monitor and then you could spend the rest on a normal 1080p panel for gaming, as your first monitor. That's how I'd go about it anyway.
