I just had my wisdom tooth extracted 2 days ago and I've got to say, it sucks.

First day, well no pain because of anesthesia then 2nd day there was an awful taste a metallic taste and above that I feel like there's a rock that weighs a ton in my mouth because of swelling from surgery, and the worst part I'm not allowed to eat solid foods (hamburger, pizza or anything I like really,) Just jello and soup for 2-4 weeks. I've lost 4 kgs already.

All I've got to say, if you are about to have your wisdom tooth pulled out, good luck because it wont be pleasant.

Better than my experience, got my 4 wisdom teeth removed, ended up having 2 seizures in bed, 1 on a stretcher, and another in the emergency room. Turns out I have Neurocardiogenic Syncope. >_>

I'll tell you something. When I had them extracted, I did them locally meaning they just numbed them like normally and the dentist did it within 30 minutes of me arriving to the building. The pain was terrible yes, I agree with you there but you can eat solid food quicker than 2-4 weeks. I was eating solid food within the next week or so and I had no problems. Oh, and eat ice cream and lot of it. It will help the swelling and pain.

I just don't want to develop a dry socket, which is very excruciating, the pain of the surgery multiplied by a million. It's when the blood clot is gone and you have a hole in your gums, bacteria and food can get stuck there and then it's not pretty which is why I can only eat mashed stuff, mashed potatoes soup jello that kind of stuff.

I had my wisdom tooth removed about a year ago and I was so special that I had 5 wisdom teeth instead of the usual 4. Anyways, it was not that bad other than numbness in your mouth for the first day since you are incapable of eating anything by yourself.
