As the title suggests I have dilemma (not so huge)
Not long ago about 1 year, I purchased A custom built computer of a family friend and for a great deal as well but that's not what I'm here to talk about.
I am in need of assistants in deciding whether to 'maintain/upgrade' my current PC or buy a new one.
It is still going strong and can run any game in ultra but the problem is through wear and tear the ports are slowly degrading and breaking one by one not only that but the USB inputs are outdated in them self.
I am quite tech savvy but not enough to solder new ports etc and was wondering whether it is worth buying a complete new custom PC (links/suggestions accepted) or to fix my current PC due to the fact that I most likely couldn't sell it.
I don't have the exact specifications of the tower but will update the post when I am able to get them.
Any and all advice/help is accepted and appreciated!

Firstly we need to know the specs of your system, if you don't know them off hand then use [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] , then use your eyes to find the power supply model number and case model too.
Secondly if its the rear ports on the motherboard then you will not be able to replace them yourself, at least not safely. If its the front ports then you can either buy a new front panel if the case is still made or just buy another case.

From memory I have an old CoolerMaster Case with an 800 watt CoolerMaster power supply and 4x 3.6 GHz AMD Phenom II quad core processor.
As for the ports, I am not suggesting to fix them myself but is it worth it replacing the motherboard etc or would it be a better option to buy a complete build, just from your general knowledge.
From memory I have an old CoolerMaster Case with an 800 watt CoolerMaster power supply and 4x 3.6 GHz AMD Phenom II quad core processor.
As for the ports, I am not suggesting to fix them myself but is it worth it replacing the motherboard etc or would it be a better option to buy a complete build, just from your general knowledge.

If its Phenom its going to be AM3 probably which makes changing the motherboard problematic. Depending on your budget, yeah it might just be easier to make a whole new system.

Any suggestions on parts/builds that are not UBER POWERFUL but will get the job done for gaming in High-Ultra SETTINGS and could double as a workstation for rendering etc? I have a budget of anywhere under or to $1500 and am willing to go over if necessary.

Woops, Sorry about that double up.
Since you seem to be well knowledged on this topic is there any chance that you could build one for $1000 or under ? that still will get the job done
