Chris Kyle, AKA the legend. One of the most lethal snipers in U.S. military history . A lot of speculation around Chris whether he was a hero or a stone cold murderer, he has over 160 confirmed kills! In an interview he stated that he liked killing people and if his family didn't need him back home he would go back for more. Is the U.S. military just full of sociopaths and evil people or are they genuinely people who want to help the country? What are your thoughts?

To think that he was a cold blooded killer is pretty stupid, Chris was emotionally and mentally torn up from the guys he didn't save and the people he killed. people need to read his book before you think that he was a crazy guy with a gun that liked to kill people. The movie doesn't do him justice on some of the things that went on over there. Then to set things out Jesse Ventura sued Chris Kyle for nearly 2 million for defamation. War tears people up in different ways and you don't know till youv been shot at, watched your brothers die or had to shoot a kid because he had a grenade or a rpg or a gun. In my opinion people blow this way out of perportion. As you see people make assumptions when the person is killed and can't defend himself in anyway. The man actually did some good with the VA and helped soldiers that had PTSD.

The liberals who like to dance on their grave rather have American troops perish than to have us succeed against the enemy.
When a movie comes out about the Americans losing, they love it, but anything positive gets labeled as pro-war propaganda.

Chris Kyle did what he had to in order to save American troops' lives.
He's a hero.

Military is meant to kill the enemy, so when he says he is proud of his kills, it's because they're on the enemy trying to kill him. He's also serving his country so the passion grew on him.

I highly doubt he's completely into it for watching his victims die. But he clearly is descentitized.

I once read something along the lines of "There are two types of people in the military forces, the people who genuinely want to help their country, and then there are those that just want a legal means of killing." I wholeheartedly agree with that phrase.

I'd say he's a little of both. Wants to help, but also enjoys having the means to kill.

If you were in the military, a sniper, and your guys were being shot by insurgents of course you would want to protect them. He did what he had to do to save the lives of the people he needed to protect. Also, it wasn't like he did this in one tour. You have to remember that this was over the course of four tours which could have been over three years in service.

i do think that the military like 10 years ago did try to train you and break you down mentally to the point that they could train you to be what they wanted you to be (fearless and emotionless)

You literally have to bring politics into every single comment you make and I strongly dislike you for your over the top conservative views.

Politics doesn't have anything to do with this. I'm a democrat and I don't view Chris Kyle as a "murderer" what so ever.

Although I don't agree with war I believe that everyone whos in the military are heroes since they are pretty much fighting for their country and they do help and save lives in the areas they are fighting in which I think is the most important thing they do and I really respect them doing that even if it is part of there job.

Surely you know once you sign up to go into the army, navy, RAF, US Military.. it is either kill or be killed? would you rather kill someone who is about to kill your friends? or fellow troops? or watch your friends being either blown u, executed, shot?

it is a really easy answer not even debateable.
