So got a uni interview tommorow , Graphic design , Slaving away at making sure my portfolio is 100% the best it can be , Pretty much done everything but making sure everything is ok.

Any tips?

What will they ask?
What to talk about?
What to prepare etc?

Also , Strange one but what should i be wearing? , I went to a uni interview for the same course last year , Wore smart indigo jeans , tan shoes and a smart shirt but everyone else wore t shirts and jeans with trainers xD

You don't want to look like everyone else, you want to stand out. Make an image.
Maybe you should link your portfolio in the grapics forum : Forums/f=116/graphics-forum.html
and try and get some better feedback there. Good luck. -Aqua Flow

I have uploaded each project to the graphic forum seperartly and they have all given good feedback , Its a paper portfolio not a online so i cant just upload it all , They have given feedback on each piece though i think/

About standing i agree with that , But with everyone wearing graphic teeshirts . trainers and jeans , It looked as if they were going to the shop or something and then i was wearing clothes alot smater so im thinking of trying to find a middle ground , Also im not sure if everyone else is going to dress in trainers/jeans/t shirts for the interview tommorow.

The one im going for tomorrow is my first choice so want to make sure i get it right xD

You can't really go wrong with by dressing smart, honestly. Dressing casual whilst everyone else is in smart, that's what you need to avoid (been through that last month).

Go with a shirt and trousers, always does the job.

As for interview content, I can't be specific as graphic design isn't my interest and so I have no experience but knowing your motivations, understanding what they expect you to know at this level and having a genuine passion for the subject could be a good start. Outside of that, don't fret about it too much - You don't want to seem robotic by preparing responses to everything.

Good luck

Well if its your first choice on your list then you will not want to come in dressed in trainers and trackys. But don't wear a bloody suite 1234(( jst wear something casual but classy . Put yourself in there position, if you were correcting your work. What would you change, if you find something no matter how small it is improve it . you want to give them less opportunity's of turning you away. I would say you will be fine. it's not as big a stress as you might think. just act cool and go along with it.

I wouldn't worry about what they are going to ask you - don't worry about it the answers will come naturally if you have picked the right degree, and they know their candidates will be nervous, they won't reject you on that! If you are truly passionate about graphic design, and have done the work outside the classroom there is nothing they can ask you that will leave you um-ing and err-ing.

Remember at the end of the day they want you to go to their university, they aren't going to try to make you slip up, they just want to be able to evaluate how much you are suited to the degree.

Mr. Costa has also raised a great point of dress code, its not like they will think badly of you for dressing smart, where as theres a chance they will if you rock up in Lonsdale trackies and a McKenzie cap on..

Good Luck mate wish you all the best in the interview, sure you'll smash it

Thanks , Yeah as i said when i got into my last interview (It was last year) but it was Graphic design and it was easy (And enjoyable) but i was nervous as hell waiting for it , When i got in it was just normal chatting between two people who were interested in the subject , And at some points it sounded like he was trying to sell the university to me rather than the other way around.

Im sure it will be fine , Doesent mean i wont be nervous as hell till i get in there xD , Just thought id ask for any last min tips while im sorting out my portofolio

Btw in terms of dress code i have no intentions of going in trackys xD , Im planning on maybe going in tan shoes (Fairly smart) , Some smart (For jeans anyway) indigo jeans , A plain grey t shirt and a black jacket , Smart but simple as.

Something like that but a tee shirt instead of jumper (Or i could wear a jumper) , Thats not me btw just found it and its pretty much identical to what im thinking of wearing xD.

It seems stupid to worry about what your wearing but thats what im like haha xD

Ask loads of questions but not silly ones try to make your self known tell them your name ect, just try to speak to them get to know the uni courses just ask about most things.
