Hey guys its come to a time where i need to upgrade my PC for the new games that are coming out, GTA 5 and Dying Light for example. I just want to upgrade my graphics card and PSU atm then upgrade the processor later on. My budget is roughly 250 for both of these. I want to be able to run most games on high settings 1080p with high frames. Here is my current build.

CPU - i7 3770 @3.4GHz
RAM - 8GB (not sure specs)
PSU - CX 430
GPU - HD 7850 1GB MSI

HDD - 1TB WD BLACK

Thanks for any help guys !

You could run a GTX970 which would cost 250GBP itself, whether you'd feel comfortable doing that is another matter. The card itself won't pull too much more than 150w but depending on your other specs and overclock that power draw could shoot up.

The 970 would be the best upgrade you could get, otherwise a decent 550w and a AMD R9 280X would be 240GBP odd.

If the GTX970 you want has more power inputs than the PSU has outputs then you will also need Molex to PCIe adaptors to make the card work.

Actually looking at the price the 970 might just be a bit too high for what i want to spend :/

You can find 970's around the 250GBP mark, however if you would rather not spend that much on one component then perhaps consider another card. AMD's R9 290 can sometimes be found for that money but it would require a PSU change, or you could opt for a 280X which is much less and would enable you to purchase a new PSU at the same time.

Would [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] be good for the price?

In my opinion, I would take a little extra time and save up for a good 970. A 970 would be your best bet for a long last and capable GPU.

You could also wait a few weeks for a 960 which Imma guess performs like a 770.
