So I've recently gotten into PC gaming and I need two things to run better games: A decent GPU and a PSU to use it. Im already getting an i5 processor, so that wont be an issue. My PC's form factor is a microATX so, the PSU must be able to fit and the GPU can't be longer then about 8 inches. My budget is no more then $350 for both. Thanks and I will rep to anyone that helps.

I'd try stretch a bit and get something like this

If you can spend a bit extra you could get a better PSU, but you don't want to lose out on GPU performance

Tbh its best to not cheap out on a PSU, but if you could up your budget to around $370-$400 the GTX 970 is a must.

I can up it to get the better PSU and 970, only problem is if the card will fit into my microATX case. The RAM may be to close to the PCI-e slots for the 970 to fit.

Your RAM is not going to conflict with the PCI slot or anything in the slot.

Another PSU option: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Maybe worth getting a new case then.

The CM N200 is a great budget case.

Me along with some other users on the site including r00t have worked in these and they are great cases.

It's definitely worth upgrading case since Dell's pre-built systems have horrible cases which are just not good for upgrading or adding components to at all.

You could grab this for around $350;

Spend a little more to get an N200 if you wish, grab a 128GB MX100 to save a bit of cash if need be. You could drop the SSD for now and fit an R9 290, but you'd need a larger PSU, at least a decent 500W unit, though I'd recommend a quality 550W unit or so, just in case as I know the 290's and 290x's are power hungry cards. Keep in mind though, the 280 is a great card for gaming at 1080p.

Well, they're both over budget. Grab a 4690k instead of a 4670k. Will you be overclocking? If so, you will need to pair the "k" class CPU with a z series motherboard and look at getting a decent aftermarket cooler.

What are your current specs? How much have you got for all of your upgrades and what do you want to upgrade? If you haven't currently got an LGA1150 motherboard, the i5 won't work until you get a compatible motherboard.
