Whats up everyone, I have two custom built gaming pcs in my room. I have my main, and another that my friends use when they come over. I want to build a local home server that i can put games/ media on so that my friends could just access games without having to re download them onn the computers. I have over 600 pc games lol. I have around a $500 budget. Is this possible with this budget? Thanks!

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ] we have two of these at my house for random things. They can be a bit tricky at times. But well worth their money. Plus, it's a bit cheaper.

That Xeon would be a waste, it's a 4 core CPU, basically an i5-4440 without the iGPU. Also, no dedicated GPU? How would OP use this system?

OP-If I understood correctly what you're asking, it wouldn't work. You won't be able to install games to a 3rd PC and then access them from the other two. Your best bet is to grab a NAS, and even then, you're going to need to install two copies of the games, if it's possible to even play them directly from the NAS, which I'm not sure about. For media and what not, a NAS will be perfect for you, but when it comes to the games, I don't think it'd work, they would have to be installed to both PC's you want to play the games on.
