Sup guys, i recently fixed my 4 year old computer which runs off vista. It is rather fast considering how long i haven't used it for, but i think it needs a windows 7 upgrade.

I want to buy one to install it today so here are my questions:

1)If I buy it off ebay do they email me the key?
2)How much should I be looking to pay max?

Thanks guys!

Depends on the seller, some send you the box, or sleeve and some email the code which you can apply to an .iso for Windows 7. You can either pay for it or try your luck with a torrent.

Run the risk of a virus/malware infecting your machine. Or maybe the uploader got cheeky and decided to backdoor the OS you wouldnt know. So go ahead and Try your luck

Windows isn't intended to be a free software so you always run the risk of authorities or your ISP finding out. The torrent can also have malware bundled into the installer which you wouldn't know about.

If you buy an OEM version of Windows 7 it will normally be just the key. For a price depending on your currency I wouldn't pay more than 30. I bought Windows 7 Professional OEM for my laptop for 25GBP a while ago. Also a OEM version of windows will most likely be cheaper than a retail version.
