Yeah it should run games fine. Also if you're gonna spend that amount why not build a desktop? And you'll probably have enough money left over for a entry level laptop if you need portability for school etc.

Options..

Could swap out the SLI 970 for a single 980.
Why? Because quite a few games are not optimized to run with SLI setups.

Could change the case there are many great options such as the h440, s340 , r4/r5 and so on..

Yes it will play games lol but it depends on what you want to use if for i guess if you do alot of travelling and like to take your gaming with you then by all means get a laptop but you could get a desktop with far better specs and for a cheaper price, follow this link and build you desktop PC, drop me a message id be happy to help!!
