It is defiantly not near 100% of the user base these days. I would say the majority of the site that logs on everyday doesn't or hasn't had anything to do with modding in a while.

I didn't say modders. I said everyday gamers.

You clearly have your views on this, and I have mine. Since i really don't care which way this goes I'm not going to bother going into it deeper.

But yes, it is an inconvenience to some, otherwise this thread wouldn't be here. So comparing this to what you did was pathetic, as I'm almost certain drinking water is more important to them that the Modding section on a Forum. Don't you?

The modding scene has always caused staff on here to be constantly busy due to the 'stereotypical' modder being childish. Yes not all 'modders' are like it, but the majority seem to be.

You'd have to be blind to not notice at the amount of posts complaining about people in the modding side of the site.

But who cares what i think, just though I'd throw my opinion in here.

If the JTAG/RGH Forum does get taken down, then I think then there should be certain members that can be PM'ed questions regarding modding. Maybe a badge for Trusted Modding Support?

But, everyday gamers wouldn't be focused on a jtag forum though if they didn't have anything to do with modding.. so to everyday gamers, it wouldn't matter to them.

Okay.

But yes, it is an inconvenience to some, otherwise this thread wouldn't be here.

I didn't say it wasn't.

So comparing this to what you did was pathetic, as I'm almost certain drinking water is more important to them that the Modding section on a Forum.

It's an inconvenience to them, but not to me. It makes no difference to my life if they have drinking water or not. Does that mean I shouldn't care about it? Because that is your argument, regardless of what it is being compared to. Don't try to play the moral card if you've nothing better to say.

Don't you?

Of course, but that wasn't your argument. See above.

The modding scene has always caused staff on here to be constantly busy due to the 'stereotypical' modder being childish.

Gamers generally are children, and, of course, they're going to be childish. Why do you assume that it is only the ones who take an interest in modding that are childish?

You'd have to be blind to not notice at the amount of posts complaining about people in the modding side of the site.

Obviously I must be, I haven't seen anything of the sort. If they're constantly complaining about it, why don't they **** off to other areas of the site instead of getting buttblasted every time they visit the section?

You're strawmanning my argument.

Re-read the context.

Firstly, I'm not playing any cards of any sort, i just thought the thing you compared it to was pathetic, as one thing is life changing, the other is pretty much pointless, but just forget that...

My point is, and you got it wrong again. Is that 'Gamers' aren't usually childish, anyone who i have ever tried to talk to who is in the 'modding' scene, they have always ended up acting childish. The most experienced gamer knows that there isn't much point in it. But like i said before, not everyone is like it, just the majority seem to be.

All that can come out of this is that I just wanna say that.. I can see their point of views on wanting rid of it. It will free up space for new and lets be honest, better sections. They wouldn't be doing it if it was going to have a HUGE affect on the site in a bad way.

Since you have still failed to grasp what i'm trying to say, i'll try to explain it clearly.

You said that it was an inconvenience to some, but it does not affect you so you do not care. The lack of freely available drinking water in Africa is an inconvenience to them (as they may have to walk miles to the closest tap) - but it does not affect me. Does that mean I should not care about their plight? No. It doesn't.

Is that 'Gamers' aren't usually childish

Obviously if you're in your late teens/adulthood you're not going to associate yourself with the kiddies who enjoy gaming - who, obviously, are childish - and so you're only speaking for the ones that are around your age, and in your circle of friends.

Spend just 5 minutes in the game chat of any mainstream game and try to tell me young gamers aren't childish.

anyone who i have ever tried to talk to who is in the 'modding' scene, they have always ended up acting childish

I'll bet you encountered these 'modders' in lobbies on CoD. Of course they're going to be children. Of course they're going to be childish. If not, then those who are childish represent a tiny minority of the people, and to generalise all modders as childish due to the actions of some is pathetic.

The most experienced gamer knows that there isn't much point in it

'The most experienced gamer' must be an idiot. You're obviously restricting your view of modders to those who host on CoD. But no, it spans far beyond that. To think otherwise is downright naive.

But like i said before, not everyone is like it, just the majority seem to be.

The majority being who? I'll bet the only childish modders you've encountered are those who play online and on CoD - why? Because the majority of those who take an interest in modding play offline only. Me, for example. You're obviously not going to have the chance to speak to people who play offline only - because they're offline.

It will free up space for new and lets be honest, better sections.

All dead forums. Why don't we remove them to make space for newer and 'better' sections, instead of one of the most active forums on the site?

They wouldn't be doing it if it was going to have a HUGE affect on the site in a bad way.

Removing the aforementioned sections would not have a huge effect on the site, so why not remove them too?

I couldn't agree more with that part. But since we keep repeating the rest. Probably best to leave it there...
