What is an Internal Memory Card Reader ? And Is it important to have in a build as the case I would like to buy does not support one ?

The above image is an internal card reader. All it is, is the faceplate that has USB slots, SD slots, etc

You do not need one, but I personally feel the same way about this and having a DVD/CD/Blu Ray drive. I don't see it as a computer without one.
