EDIT: YOU CANNOT DO THIS IF YOU ALREADY HAVE XBOX LIVE, AND YOU DONT NEED TO HAVE A NEW ACCOUNT YOU CAN USE YOUR OLD ONE
You WILL need a payment option, you can get a Virtual CREDIT CARD from Bancore.com. If you're from the United States when creating your CREDIT CARD you MUST select Canada. (You may also use Paypal, thanks Tell)
1. Go to the xbox dashboard
2. Sign out of your ACCOUNT
3. Click on explore xbox live
(You might get a notice saying you need to update your media player, just ignore it.)
4. Sign into the account you want the xbox live
5. Once signed in click on the bottom right tile that says XBOX LIVE GOLD
Follow from then on, TURN OFF AUTO RENEWAL OR IT WILL CHARGE YOU NEXT MONTH.

This has been posted many times, also bancore does not work anymore since they want you to add money to it before they give the vcc info. But thanks for posting again.
