Okay I am pretty sure I am not the only person who has experienced this..
I am really big into Rock music and just about all of its sub-genres.
However this small town I live in people aren't to fond of Rock. Just about everyone listens to country here.
The Story
Now my point is that it is stupid that people instantly judge you on what you listen to.
When people think of Rock they typically think the people who listen to it are completely rude, no manners, always in trouble with someone and that you're a bad person overall.
This is clearly not the case but I think it needs to stop.
Go by personality and how they act. Not music

The Story
This has happened to me yesterday and in Physics we had gotten assigned to random partners to do a lab and I had gotten partnered with this girl(She is more of the I am better than you type of person).She tells the teacher out loud that she does not want to work with a immature rock and roll degenerate. This accusation is completely incorrect. I am not a "degenerate" nor immature. Later on in the day I had stopped at the gas station to fill my car up and as I was going to open the door to the gas station and I notice some elderly people about to leave and like any other polite person would I began to hold the door for them and the girl from my class comes out of nowhere and pushes me away from the door and tells the old couple that I am a degenerate kid with no manners. However I say nothing and be the bigger one and just let it go.Now today is what got me completely pissed me off. I was sitting in my first period today and I had gotten called down to the principles office because some people said I had stole other peoples belongings and a group of people were saying it was me. Eventually they found the stuff hidden in a classroom that I do not have any classes in but strangely enough the same girl and all of her friends were the ones saying I had stolen their stuff.Which pisses me off because I was the first person accused

Well this is something that doesnt happen very often, I think that girl is just a skunt.
I get judged more often for being white and being a huge rap/hip hop fan.
I understand what you are saying, and it is really silly that people are so close minded that they judge you based on music, but as I said I think that girl is just a skunt.

Well see since a lot of the people here are christian they assume heavy metal is basically about Satan which then they brainwash their kids to think people like me are terrible people

that sucks dude. i listen to Metal/rock/metalcore all that stuff and people always look at me weird when i go places. it annoys me -_-

How do people look at you weird when you go places ?
Unless you're playing your music obscenely loud for them to have to listen to it,
I'd be really surprised if anyone looked at you weird for having that music at a normal volume

There's always going to be fools that stereotype you and categorise you from which music you love to listen to.
I've experienced it because I like to listen to hardstyle, and people think it's the same as donk, when it's completely different.

Won't lie I admit giving this kid a weird look for listening to rock because he was just blaring it in the hall of my high school (happened two years ago) every one was yelling turn that sh!t off get head phones well I agree with what they were saying even if it was my favorite rap song there is no need to blare your music in the hall of the school

See I don't blare my music in any of the halls or anything the only time people hear my music is when I'm driving with my windows down or if my headphones are just a little to loud

I don't think it's completely to do with your taste in music. It sounds to me like this girl and her friends are bullying you. There's only 2 ways to deal with it, fight fire with fire or tell someone/get moved classes.
It totally depends on your nature, I'm not going to encourage you to do either, but I am encouraging you to do something about it.
Personally I would fight fire with fire and terrorize this girl and her friends in any non physical way I could think of. (non physical since girls are involved obviously..) However if it is not in your nature to do such things then there is absolutely nothing wrong with telling someone.
