this HDD uses SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) instead of just SATA and I do not know where to get one of these cables. Here is the HDD: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] Anyone know where I can get the correct cable, and if so, does it require a special motherboard to use, or should I just sell the drive?

SAS drives cannot be used with SATA controllers. The cheapest way to make it work would be to buy an SAS controller card, which will not be cheap, so you should probably just sell it.
