The guy above is right, also:

Check the seeders before downloading. Bittorrent, (what you're using) is based on seeders and leechers. When you DOWNLOAD, you are a LEECHER. When you UPLOAD, you are a SEEDER. DOWNLOADING requires being connected to at least 1 seeder.

While downloading, click on any torrent, and look at the INFO tab below, and look at this:
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

This is your seeder count. Be sure you have one.

Also, note that everyone else who is downloading has your IP..i don't do uTorrent much anymore bc the offshore downloading is faster and a little safer, at a cost.
(Note: This is with all torrent clients and torrenting itself. Since it takes up a lot of bandwidth, your ISP will probably throttle your internet, if they haven't already. Simply test your speeds, torrent, and test again afterwards. If they are, i recommend getting a VPN, particularly from privateinternetaccess)

Check your bandwidth:
1: Go [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] here
2: Click on [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] that

Check your bandwidth allocation. Set it to HIGH. Note: Torrenting takes up a LOT of bandwidth. If you share internet with a family, be sure they don't mind.

Click SET DOWNLOAD LIMIT. Click on the highest one.

As a side note, i use Multi stream downloading and an offshore client with fast speeds. Essentially, you can go to a site, such as filestream.me, and they will download it for you (much faster) and then you, in turn, can use multi stream (multiple connections means faster speeds) to download it.

Check your download speeds. Most home networks simply are throttled or slow, or both.
