Well its a smart law but there isnt a way to guarantee online safety there will always be ways to get stuff without paying.

This is where I stand on the issue at the moment:

I am okay with people for instance pirating graphics programs that can be really expensive if they are for non-commercial recreation use. This meaning practicing and getting experience, learning how to use the program. If you are using the program for commercial use like selling products or commercial graphic design, then you should own a legitimate license for the program.

The only reason that I am okay with the non-commercial piracy of programs is because not everybody has the financial stability to go out and purchase a 3,000$ graphics program just so they can practice their skills.

I think pirateing should be ok as long as people dont try to make money off of it I download tons a programs such as PS and Camtasia because frankly they're just to damn expensive Well anyways i think it is wrong for those that abuse it but its like take for example, Your not suppose to mod your xbox or jailbreak you iDevice but everyone does and it cant be stopped. Thats my thoughts on it.

linux = free everything! (for the most part)

but yea its not that its good. but really some company's just want you to "pirate" their software putting insane numbers of money. dont get me wrong its cool for few things but "subscription based" and "pay-to-win" things are the dumbest ideas ever.

Most people on the internet would rather not pay $0.99 for a song when they can get a mp3 downloader. $50 software that will become obsolete in just a few years. what happens if they just drop the project like most kickstarters do... you lose the money an get something not really worth it

now dont get me wrong some stuff should be some what off limits but the internet is suppose to be a place where knowledge is everywhere

I think it's reasonable to enforce Piracy, but it's mainly the people who upload programs that get in trouble than people who download them.

I find it a good thing as not many people have enough money to go out and spend huge sums of money on pre-orders/new releases.

There's always going to be piracy around the world but look at it this way, Companies wont be loosing as much as they get almost multiple amounts back from what they spend to make products any way's.

Even with having piracy, Members of the public still support the owners of the product which helps with future products and pricing's.

When it comes to games and programs I prefer the term "try before you buy" as I hate to buy a game I haven't played before to then find out I don't like it. I'm also the same with movies, if I download a film and I like it then I'll buy it on bluray for better quality.

I agree with Axe but it should only be forced on the people who use it for personal profit and gain. And what I find really dumb is the people who they want to enforce this on is the ones downloading it. Not the ones uploading it. I myself have recieved strikes from my ISP (Comcast) for downloading games for free that were released in 2010 and 2009 and some movies that were pretty old. I think instead of when they see oh he or she downloaded our game or movie without buying it they should go look at the link they downloaded it from and enforce the piracy law on the uploader.
