I understand you have to rgh the console in order to flash it first but don't really have any knowledge on how to rgh it. If someone can link me to a step by step on how to do this it would be very appreciated! Also I'm pretty sure it's a DG-16D5s because it says 12v 9,86A. But is there any other way to tell?

If you haven't done it before it'll definitely take you some time.

But if it's something you're into I would definitely go for it. It's all a fun process if you enjoy it!

I suggest youtube and google for guides though.

You dont need an RGH to flash a drive.
this is what you get when you deal with unexpericanced people who do not have a clue what there talking about!

You need to rgh the console to get the info then you will also need a unlock board if you can even get a good one that works the chiness ones aren't that great

No, from my understanding of the DG-16D5S you need to get the DVD key from the board, you can't do that without booting XeLL. You can't get any keys from the drive itself because of what Lite-On did with the newer 16D5S drives.

After you get the new DVD key you need an unlocked board to replace the one already on the drive, then flash the motherboard's DVD key onto the board and plug it back in. The 16D5S drives are a pain in the ***

Thank you Chillest, finally somebody with some sense.

Rodent was not an ass to you Hunter, he just pointed out that you were wrong. Don't go around giving advice if you are not sure of what you are talking about.

Flashing drives is not allowed on TTG.

/end of thread.

Go check somewhere like ixtreme if you want flashing info.
