This is just my theory, but i cant say its absolutely true.
I did some research on GliGli rgh method based on nand Reading and writing. Including the coolrunner programming. But im going to go that far.
But anyway. The original idea and was possible of cpu reset. And implementing a coding that would keep sending signals to the xbox main processer and would keep reseting until possible unsigned code was POSSIBLE. Thats the main story of RGH, but i think that it should be possible find out that specific coding and make it bootable from a usb stick. And what i personally think that gli gli method could add some more stuff to the project. And specifically you would have an rgh like that.
That would mean that it would be possible to rgh with out the mod chip.

Hold on i'm not quite getting it. You need to go into more details regarding the USB method.

Ill explain. The project was officially released on mod chips correct? So i was regarding that it could have been possible if they found a way to get those signals to go though the system via usb.

Not possible because you cannot reset the CPU via USB. It has to be reset via CPU_REST or whatever that solder point is called.

For those that couldn't figure it out. OP doesn't want to spend money to get the modchip and was hoping that there was a way that he could mod his console with a USB.

That's not possible. I'm not a good hardware guy, but I can assure you if it was possible it would have been done already don't you think?

If a USB method was possible it would have been done already. The "reset" half of the glitch is done by an oscillator. You can't easily replicate hardware using software. Plus, even if you could do it through USB, how are you gonna get it to run the program? That would be considered unsigned code. Can't run unsigned code without the RGH/Jtag mods. On top of that you would have to change the boot priority of the Xbox so that it launches the USB mod before the OS. The major hole is the Unsigned code without the RGH/Jtag mod installed, and the fact that you can't read the nand without a nand reader.

This will never be possible simply because the nand is placed in memory that can only be read/written to if you have hv privileges. If you try to you will get a nice crash. Soldering directly to the points does not require reading from an address its simply giving power to the points and capturing the output and just the opposite for writing. It is possible to read/write the nand from memory but you need something there before the hv is executed (xell) or have hv privileges.
