So as many of you may know games are becoming shorter, easier to complete with hardly any replayability what so ever i find this shocking people spend there hard earned cash on these 60-80 pound/dollar games that wont last longer than a week.

Destiny is the latest example of how two major fraudulent company's such as Bungie and Activision have managed to release a un-complete game, charge for the rest of the content that is partially already on the disc and release it as DLC for extra cash i understand the industry is a striving business and money has to be made but why deceive the community of gamers if anything they'll lose money when people begin to realize what they have done.

Destiny in particular has paid for reviews which is very manipulative.

I find it hilarious how the gaming industry has turned it used to be content for money now its more money, less content this is absolutely ridiculous i never signed up for this.

Edit: i haven't posted this to cause an argument or oppose hate on Destiny I've simply posted this so people may open their eyes

This is where you lose me. The objective of any industry is to generate profit.
We have nobody to blame besides ourselves for allowing companies to get away with recycled content, short/incomplete games, paid DLC, whatever.

I agree that the quality has generally declined over the years, but like I said, it is only the consumer's fault.

It would be the consumers fault but they wouldn't be aware of how they've been robbed for their money until they bought the game.

If people are content with their purchase, aren't longing for more, then what is the issue?
I understand you may not be happy with the current actions of developers and publishers, but nobody is forcing you to buy the games.
If you don't like the direction the industry is headed (even though all industries have the same goal of making money) then maybe pick up a new hobby.

I dont understand how they are Fraudulent.

They create content we buy it.

We dont have to buy every expansion/DLC to enjoy the game.

Destiny, as your prime target, have yet to release anything chargeable and it is still a playable game, they have waited to release the Vault, they have daily bounties to help you progress. There will be DLC of course and its down the each user whether to buy.
If they are bored now they probably wont waste their money.

Every industry has gotten into the trend of staggering or selling separate things.

Movies, they stagger stories over 3, 4 possibly 7 films.

Even purchases of electronics have extras now.

This is just the way things are.

Clever business? Yes
Fraudulent? No

What you need to understand Destiny in particular cost 500m to develop and publish they'll do anything in their path to make sure profits are flourishing but this isn't right you say its clever i say its manipulation sir.

Its not manipulation.

Its common practice.

Look at games for the past 5 years. Map packs, gun packs, extra missions.
DLC has been around longer than some of our members here.

Is it really that much of a hardship to prolong the life of a game they spent 500 million on?

Sure as shiznit if I had spent a fortune on something I would try to make it last.

I can see where you are coming from dont get me wrong.
But calling them Fraudulent and Manipulative is a little extreme.
Because you dont play games anymore doesnt mean you have to try pick the industry apart.

I personally think that they have done no wrong as they are creating bigger and better games, and no one is forcing your hand in buying the games. If you want something to change about the gaming industry, make your friends, family, everyone you know stop buying the game. Otherwise, you are wasting your time with it.
