Ok, so I have an iphone 4(no 4s ) and since I can't get IOS 8(which finally added the features I wanted) I was wondering if I should jailbreak? I am familiar with jailbreaking but never with my main phone, it has always been an ipod or an iphone without a sim. I've never jailbroken my main phone because there are some security vulnerabilities that come with jailbreaking. So is there something that could go wrong if I were to jailbreak my main phone?(aside from bricking and things like that, I mean hack relate; like tapping calls or something idk) and should I jailbreak or leave IOS 7 be?

In my opinion you should jailbreak it. The only thing that would concern me would be your phone slowing down, especially on an iPhone 4. No need to worry about getting hacked or anything like that though.

What are the chances of it slowing down and by how much(assuming I will be using winterboard and things like activator and barrels)

I have a jailbroken iPhone 4. And a non Jailbroken iPhone 6. The iPhone 4 is fine to jailbreak, just don't overload it with tweaks and stuff otherwise it'll just become really really slow and then you'll have to go through cydia and have to delete all the stuff you don't need.

But ultimately, Yes jailbreak, It's fine !

I wouldn't worry about tapping calls, people only tap calls to get information, what information have you got? that people need?

Barrel will slow down the iphone 4 quite a bit, i know from experiance, i have a 4, used that and it just slowed it right down.

Also, zeppelin and alkaline seem to slow it down also (well for me)

i use winterboard to change my signal and wireless bit now, and it is a lot faster.

Just dont use loads of tweaks which you don't need!

the iPhone 4 is my main phone atm and i jailbroke mine no problem at all.

good luck

I jailbroke my iPhone 4 and it was worth the tweaks and so on you can do but the major issue is that it does in most cases kill the battery life or slow your phone...

Also, once you jailbreak you cannot revert back an unjailbroken device with the iPhone 4. Alot of people have tried numerous restores but when you try to restore you get an error on iTunes or if you try to do an 'OTA' or 'Over The Air' update that just errors. It's stupid really but you need to decide whether you want it enough to have your device permanently jailbroken.

There's my input

Are you sure this is true? just put the device in DFU mode and recover it.. that works, it did for me
