Any opinions on this build? Any way to make it cheaper with out sacrificing that much power. I already have the Case (Fractal Design R4) and the PSU (XFX P1-550S-XXBA 550W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Power Supply)

If you want to make it cheaper downgrade the processor to an i5-4670k and the cooler to an air cooler such as the Hyper 212 EVO. The only thing Devils Canyon (90k) processors have over the regular is a tiny clock speed boost and better thermals. With a decent cooler you can overclock the 4670k and get nearly if not the same performance out of it.

Don't need the optical drive unless you plan on using it a lot... I used mine to install the OS and haven't touched it since. I'd recommend just using a USB if you have one. Could potentially put the spare 20 dollars into a better quality part (not saying what you've chosen isn't quality, but 20 dollars goes a surprisingly long way when it comes to singular parts.)

For a monitor; I'm going to recommend the Acer H236HL Bid. It's one inch smaller than the Asus, but it's served me very well and it's damn sexy. I'm not sure on its pricing where you live, but it put me down $180 AUD.

Do not change the 4690k to a 4670k. They're around the same price, but the 4690k is considerably better, especially for overclocking. Do not buy a cheap air cooler instead of the H00i. The H100i is significantly better than the 212 EVO. Also, it looks much nicer. You could get a cheaper AIO cooler with a 240mm rad possibly but the H100i is a solid choice. You could maybe save $10 on RAM. Personally, I'd get the 256GB MX100 instead of the 128GB since the 256GB version is only $110. I'd bin the optical drive too, unless you will definitely need to use it on a regular basis.

212 Evo vs H100i.
Let me put it this way...
With my 212 EVO and my 6300 at 4.2GHz, I was easily getting 55 degrees C. With my H100i and a 4.4GHz OC, I rarely go above 30C and programs like IBT and Prime 95 push the temp up to 37C MAX
