I've purchased these parts (non-$0.00, there are reused pieces) and I'm already suffering from a bit of buyer's remorse, can someone check over this build? It's only been about an hour since I placed the orders so I can just cancel any of them except the G3258.

Note: I'd rather not go above the budget ($475), unless there's a cheap case that won't make the R9 280X scream like it will soon in the Rosewill Blackbone.

Is it wise buying a 280x with a dual core?

I do plan on grabbing a i5 in the future but I think the 280x is steal at 150$ considering a 270x is 190$ new @ Newegg and 110$ mining/used @ eBay. I don't think any amount of 'moderate' overclocking with the G3258 will close the performance gap with the R9 280x but a G3258 will cost less to upgrade from than a R9 270x so I'll take the chance (considering a G3258 will most likely still have resell value compared to a R9 270x).

Fair enough, just expect some major bottlenecks early on.

The G3258 WILL NOT bottlneck a 280X...
It isn't as easy as most people think.

Depends on the game and/or an overclock if OP wants to.

I'd have left out the SSD to get 8GB RAM, better case and a larger HDD. Then add the SSD in the future.

I beg to differ.
The G3258 is a great CPU for it's price and Craigyy and Buxtyy have had no issues with a G3258 and a more powerful GTX 770.

Do you any cases you would recommend?

I've been looking around the price range of this case and it seems like this one probably has the best design (for airflow, I just want a cool engine).

The [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] , it's $10 more expensive, but totally worth it.
