One day I was watching one of Kootra's videos (a creature) I went to read the comments and I see "Is Kootra gonna stream after the incident" then another person "What incident" the reply was that Kootra got swatted on stream. I was so furious to find out that someone swatted one of my favorite youtubers.

If you don't know what swatting is, it is when a hacker finds out where the victim lives, calls the police, reports a fake threat like a bomb, hostage, or killing.Then the swat team comes breaks down the door and searches the place.
Then I look the suggestions and I see whiteboy gets swatted and I was going nuts.

So thats my rant.
Edit:(imgur reminded me)Not only Kootra got affected They 2-3 schools were put on lock down and everyone was escorted out the building Dan was also arrested. The police department lost more money... here is the news reports [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

I find it dumb that the swatting is so aggressive when the streamers clearly put their hands up and accept it.

Swatting is ignorant for a multitude of reasons;
A) You're simply wasting the time of the service members involved. The time they're taking to respond to the call is time they are "off-duty" for other potential calls.
B) You're inconveniencing the streamer, entertainer, "victim." That innocent person now has to replace any broken windows or doors. Has to explain the situation if there is an audience. I would assume there is some legal actions involved post-incident.
C) You're not just affecting the "victim." When kootra got targeted a lot of people were affected. 2-3 local schools were shut down, neighbors warned, etc. Have fun explaining that to your neighbors...

Its just stupid people do this there is no good reason of swatting someone who is just entertaining people

I agree to a certain extent, but it's not the police's fault. As far as they know, they're considered dangerous. So they have to be aggressive with them.
On the other hand, they should know better by now. There has to be a way to know if it's a prank call or not. I'm assuming the kids who make these calls couldn't possibly be older than 14, considering they have no respect for anyone but themselves.

They could have a bomb, a gun anything. They make to take these things seriously otherwise lives can be lost.
I think its stupid in general to swat someone simply because it puts people in danger and it costs a sh!t load of money to do it.

It was a joke... they took down Destiny (fun game). I don't think they swatted anyone.
Why give credit to a "hacking" team that got caught?

This is honestly the stupidest "Prank" i have ever seen done, and Ive seen stuff. Its messed up because it waste a lot of money, time and resources, but it also:
1. Endagers the lives of all the first responders who are there.
2. Someone could get killed or hurt, the swat team has real guns, real ammo, and if something were to happen it would be the person who called it
3. Waste a lot of others peoples time, and could cause them alot of suffering ( elderly neighbors, live near a hospital, etc)

When S.W.A.T. is called it is no laughing matter and streamers would end up hurt if they did anything but corporate with them. I personally think that it is stupid to call in fake calls for S.W.A.T. to deal with though.
