For wifi with my pc would a usb wifi adapter or One you put in the mother board be better, and if so links to them thanks!

Either will be fine, just don't get some non brand Chinese crap off eBay. If possible go with ethernet tho as it will provide the fastest and most stable connection.

Try to get on built in unless you have multiple computers needing an adapter in your house. Usb ones arnt the best typically. could be wrong though

Just because you're not near your router doesn't mean you can't use an ethernet cable.

Get something like this;

Run it from your router to your room. Drill small holes in walls that are in your way if you can and you can either run it under the carpet out the way or use small pin like things to attach it to the wall. Once you've done that, buy this;

or get an 8 port switch instead, if you'll use that much. This way you can use ethernet cables for your PC, and whatever else you use e.g xbox, playstation, laptop etc.

I had wireless once, it was awful, These are alot better.

HomePlugs would probably be the easiest for you to maintain and its a wired connection and if your motherboard has a good ethernet controller that'll help too. I use dual band wireless and to be honest the throughput would poop on most peoples connections, its more to do with the quality of the hardware more than the connection type.
