I went in to buy a new laptop yesterday i was told that if i didnt buy norton anti virus that my computer would get 40 viruses per minute how stupid do they actually think you are?

That was just a daft employee.
I work for them and have never used such tactics.
I also dont fully believe you as they recommend McAfee as it is in the bundles they offer and is part of the KPI

Yes he did say to buy either mcafee or norton but thats what he genuinely told me.

Very is the answer. They only work there for the money, most, not all but most have no idea how to troubleshoot with computers or how they even work.

Thats true personally i just avg free and malware vytes and microsoft security essentials and i never have a problem.

I know the type of person you talk about as I had the same opinion.
Luckily some of the guys I work with are spot on.
They are honest with what they know and if they get asked something they are unsure of they will get help instead of winging it.
The training system within Currys PC World is actually pretty good, I guess some just dont take information in well.
