Anyone have illegal window tint? If so, how far off the limit is it, and have you ever been pulled over for it?

I haven't got it, but I do know that if it is illegal and you are pulled over (Which is very likely if the police have nothing else to do) then if it is the film, you can pull it off on the spot and be let off.

But if it can't be pulled off or the glass itself is tinted, then you can be fined.

I have 5% all around accept of my windshield. You dont usually get pulled over just for tint. But if you speed they usually tack on a tint ticket. Its all about if you people who can inspect it. 5% has made my truck 5-10 degrees cooler this summer i love it.

I do. Cops in my area usually won't bother you about your tint unless you give them a hard time.

Dad used to be a cop, and he had his windows tinted in his county issued cop car xD

Window tint is not really something that they enforce unless you are blacked out to the point that they can't see inside your car from the outside. Just use common sense with tinting and make sure to keep it light enough that they can see you from the outside.

My dad has 20% tint in a 35% area. Don't think he's ever gotten pulled over because of it. And his is a magnet for cops. I'd just do it and if you even get pulled over, just be respectful and tell them that its below what its supposed to be and they might give you a break.

My friend said he got the max tinted on his truck at 25 percent.
His dad is a cop and that was all he was allowed.

Thats in Texas, I don't know about other areas.

I live in Illinois. The law is 35%. On my last vehicle I had 20% all the way around and never had a problem with it. Even had a few tickets and never had an issue. Probably going to go even darker when I tint my truck.
