Guys im 16 turning 17 and I have been at college for 2 weeks now I was really looking forward to it and meeting new people, getting my life on track but I have decided the course I have chose and the college I picked are not for me... I've had a discussion with my family about leaving and searching for a job or something but they said I need to continue on at college untill In find a job... I have no clue what to do.. Should I stay at college or start looking for jobs? If any.. And what jobs would you recommend? Cheers I'm really stuck ;(

It would help if you gave more specifics (what you are studying, what you want to do after etc) but even so I'd say you'd be best staying in college. If you want to change courses or something then have a chat with your college about this.

I'm studying sport something I have no interest in I wanted to study computing and become a programmer but they had no places left for me.. Now I feel its a waste of time and a whole year. I don't want a future in sport I had told my tutor and he says there can be no more adjustments made to our options etc.. I'm enrolling at a diffrent college where I got a guaranteed place and hopefully that goes well.

If it doesn't then im stuck.

I'm in need of a part time job does anybody have any recommendations for a student?

Would you guys ever recommend me doing a apprenticeship?

YES

Im doing one know in IT support. Its great. Pay isnt too great but what do you expect.

A bit about me:

After finishing school, I went on to college. I felt it was a waste of time as I was looking for jobs for around 3 months and my qualifications got me no where.

I managed getting this apprenticeship by volunteering for 3 weeks and the IT manager, and hes boss both said that they want me to join. My friend works there which is how I got the volunteering part.

My teacher told me this in college and boy is he right.

Its not what you know, its who you know.

Man, you don't want to go the hard way... I decided to not go the college route and take the job route right away. I've lost all my credits and scholarships that I have had so I now have to pay the full price and I have to bust my bum for a living. Stay in school it'll pay off eventually.
