So, now that i have my build up and running, the one thing i didn't really bother messing around with or doing an uber amount of research on is RAM. I bought 8gb of corsair vengance @ 1600mhz, but ive heard things like it doesnt really matter what speed, it does, more is overkill, 16gb is the sweet spot, etc etc.

I do, in fact, use AUTOCAD about once a week to 3dprint things, and make and mess around with CAD files, i edit videos and photos maybe twice a week, and i game every day, my question is, is it worth dishing out the money (Yes i have it) for a faster, bigger amount of ram?

So, a budget per 8gb of about 150.

As always, i'll rep anyone who helps!

For once a week I would say no unless you have problems with rendering etc. 8GB goes for around 70 dollars in the US and about 60 odd in the UK but try to get matching modules to ensure stability.

I'd say leave as-is.

Yeah, i'm not having problems, but since i've never HAD more than 8, im wondering if i'll notice any increase in render times, etc with another 8

Honestly, it won't make much difference however if, like me you want a sexy looking build and want 16GB of nicer looking RAM then shoot.

Bahahaha, it's a nice case, and i can't see inside of it because it doesnt have a window (even though i want one) so maybe in the future if i have a couple extra bucks to spend off of a bonus from work or something, i'll see about it. Thanks!

Watch your usage in RAM-intensive tasks. If it's maxed out or almost maxed out, an upgrade will improve performance. More memory only helps when you can actually use it.
