What do you guys think is the best motive for a job, a job which you love doing regardless of pay, or a job which pays better than the average pay regardless of whether you like doing the job?

As I work in McDonalds (which I hate) and get paid next to nothing, I guess I'm not sure where I stad on this debate

Happiness.

If you love what you do, you never work a day in your life.

To pay bills.
I think majority of people get jobs just for that.

Happiness. If you don't like your job than it should not be your job. Don't waste a minute of your life doing something you don't like.

I believe they are both important. Money is important to have the ability to buy things that you want. But being happy and enjoying your job is also important as not liking where you work but you would have to be there almost every day for (many) years of your life, so you may not be motivated or even potentially unhappy. With that being said, if you earn a lot of money (enough to live comfortably) then that is a recoil for retirement and living off the money which you made in your career.
