Couple jailed for keeping two girls locked inside filthy trailer home for three years while they played World of Warcraft
A jobless California couple addicted to the World of Warcraft video game is now behind bars for keeping two young female relatives locked inside their filth-infested trailer home for three years.
Lester Huffmire and his wife Petra, both 42, were this week jailed after pleading guilty to child abuse and false imprisonment of the girls ages five and 10.
Prosecutors said their Anaheim home was "unsanitary" with kitchen appliances covered in mold and cobwebs.
When cops raided the property after being tipped off by a worried neighbor they also found the toilets were broken and feces and refuse were piled on the floor.
Most disturbingly, a string of used condoms were discovered under a stuffed teddy bear. And the girls themselves were described as having "dirty matted hair, feet caked with grime and their teeth rotted beyond repair."
Investigators said the duo was unemployed and spent most of their time playing the virtual reality video game.
The girls, who lived with the couple from May 2010 until May 2013, were kept inside at all times and were banned from going to school.
Lester Huffmire was sentenced on Tuesday to five years in a state prison. His spouse will serve three years and four months, Orange County District Attorney officials said.

Only thing that annoys me is the justice system. Why are they only getting 5 years? They had to stay in a filthy trailer and never got any education in three years.

They both 20+ in prison, but the fact that the wife gets out more then a year before the husband does is gender discrimination at its finest.
