Chickens adapted from reptiles.

Well, according to some scientists, the Chicken wasn't a species in the beginning. It would have evolved over years accordingly, so the first "chicken" would have had parents of some different species (theoretically.)
So, with that being said, the egg came first.

My theory, the chicken, although, it came from an egg.. before it was a chicken, it evolved into a chicken to breed with other animals of its kind, along comes the egg
