Ok, I was just thinking about the horrors of my school year last year and how bad school is. Yup, you heard it, about how bad school is.

Now before we get started, school is beneficial in some ways and can help you out in life.... if you meet the right people.

School Hours
My school's hours are 7:00-2:15. The first thing we can talk about is the time that school starts. 7am is ridiculous for a teenager to be waking up 5 days a week. Scientists have proved your brain is not fully functional until 10am so why are we going in at 7am? The time just causes students to be late and tired. What if you drive to school and doze off in the car on your way to school? Another thing that really bugs me is that during the school yea,r we spend more time with our teachers/friends then with our families. How does this make any sense, your family are the people you love and the people who made you who you are; why are we spending more time with people who we will probably not even talk to at the end of High School? The time (7 hours) of being in school is ridiculous. We spend more than half our day in a place that we don't want to be just so we can pass? WHAT?

Homework
Okay, so we waste 7 hours of our day in school, now we can come home, and relax by the po....... ENGLISH WORKSHEET, FINISH LAB, EXAM TOMORROW, BAND, and MATH TEXTBOOK HOMEWORK..... ARE YOU ******* KIDDING ME??? I just spent 7 hours in their doing nothing and now I need to waste more of my time doing all this homework and studying just so I could get a good grade at the end of the quarter? Its rediculous! Most homework doesn't even help you, as you'll just google the answer :3 Homework is a waste of time

Teachers
Teachers, oh sweet teachers. Throughout my school career, I have met 2 good teachers that actually want you to learn, help you and care about how you do. Always on you about what to do, always offering extra help sessions, etc. This is really sad, that only 2 teachers actually wanted me to succeed. I had a teacher tell me 1on1 "My contract tells me to teach this information, not to care about you" Teachers are in it for the paycheck, and its showing alot more now-a-days. My old English teacher would sit behind the desk and tell us to look up how to write a persuasive piece. While we were working our butts off trying to finish the piece she assigned us, she sat behind her desk on her phone, texting and calling and used Facebook on her computer for 2 weeks strait. She gave us a rubric the night before the paper was due. Then it took her a month to grade all of our papers. Clearly she doesn't care about us one bit. My algebra teacher sat behind her desk, put up a youtube video for the lesson that she was supposed to teach form the textbook and sat on her phone while we took notes. We got assigned ~60 problems on that lesson that night and if you didn't understand it, and didn't complete your homework, you get a big fat 0. Gotta love teachers!

Spanish
Why do I need to learn Spanish? Why am I forced too? I doubt im going to ever speak spanish in my life for any reason. Most spanish teachers talk all in spanish and not one word in english and expect you to know what she's saying. You tellher "I don't understand" her response: "hablar en espaol" (speak in spanish)

Peers:
School is a big place for bullying, I see it all the time and so does everyone else. Its insane how much one's words can affect someone else. School is the central bullying place where almost all bullying happens (aside from cyber bullying) School puts kids in situations to impress their friends by taking advantage of others.

Might add some more later, your opinions? I'm not totally against school, i'm against homework, bad teachers and ridiculous school hours

That was my plan too
But college is different, your not stuck in a building for 7 hours strait and you choose what classes you want to be in. Most college majors are only in 3-4 classes, and some start later in the day.

Preach brother, I feel you dude, I despise the school work and home work as much as the next guy. The only thing I really like about school is seeing your friends everyday and the laughs you have with everyone else. death2homework

I should play the worlds smallest violin

All I have to say is deal with it. Oh your school starts at 7am. Thats Cute, I had to be at my school for 6:20 everyday and would have to wake up at 5am to get everything ready and check my work.

You learn spanish because its basically becoming a second language in the United States and you also will also have a larger chance of getting a better job for being bilingual.

Bullying happens everywhere. Stand your ground and you will overcome it. I swear we are all people in protective bubbles these days.

Teachers are hit or miss. Mine last year were OK but not the best I have ever had. Teachers all went through it too. Don't be blind, as they were once kids and had it even worse than you because there were REAL BULLY's back then and teachers gave no shits about anything.

In AP I get over 4 hours of homework a night, plus all my other classes. I also do sports year round so I would be getting home at 6-7 every night. The worlds smallest violin again starts playing. This is getting you ready for the real world bud. In the real world if you dont listen to your boss and work overtime or even on your own time to finish a project. You will get fired.

My rant on your rant is now over.

Through my state and all the people I have met never had I once had to speak spanish. The only reason your chances are increased for being bilingual is because jobs want to see people who did more when they were younger and worked harder on a language. Rather than learning a launguage you can spend more time on other subjects, become stronger in them and be more successful on what you decide to do in life.

Never said I was a victim of it, but during your teens in happens here the most.

Im saying most are in for the paycheck and don't care about students. Teachers like that rarely ever get fired either. There needs to be a better system for selecting teachers and a better system for maintaining/judging how well teachers do.

I play basketball for my school and I don't get home until about 5:30 every night. That in itself is a rediculous time to get home, but I love basketball so I decide to play it. Im ranting about the homework and how most of it is pointless and excess. It simply wastes our time and takes time out off our social life. Too much homework isn't good, as it just puts you under major stress. Yes some homework can prepare you for later in life, but too much just puts way too much stress on you
