my laptop screen broke so i went and bought a monitor but the vga cord does not fit in my computer it fits perfect into the monitor but not my laptop can someone help me ?

The screw adjuster things on the sides that are used to tighten it make sure those are not pushed out those can't be used on a laptop since they don't have anything built onto them to use the adjusters on.

I highly doubt that then where your trying to plug it into on your laptop isn't a VGA port and your laptop doesn't have a VGA port because VGA cables do not some in different sizes they all come in the same size. (Except the length of the cable)

The cable should look like this

And the port on your computer should look like this

If either is different, you're mistaking it for something else. The following are things that are not VGA ports.
